The Great Red Spot is the largest anticyclonic storm in the Solar System. With a diameter of 12,000 km, it has been raging on Jupiter for more than about 350 years.

According to some studies, also thanks to direct observations, the Great Red Spot is slowly fading. In this high-contrast image, we can observe the southern region of Jupiter in close proximity to the Red Spot and the smaller southern anticyclonic storms in order to understand its progress by observing the surrounding clouds and predicting its movement and evolution.
