A heavily processed north polar projection map showing Jupiter's north polar region. It is created from raw image PJ63_37. This image is based on red channel data only. The quality of the red data is better than the quality of the green and blue data in the dimly lit regions near the terminator. In particular, the blue channel images show almost no small scale details very close to the terminator.

The contrast has been enhanced. Many details can be seen in the central north polar cyclone, for example the exact center of the cyclone is obvious. The appearance of the central cyclone reminds me a bit of Saturn's north polar vortex. This is the best view I have seen of the central cyclone despite the fact that due to viewing geometry constraints, a small part of its periphery is outside the image edge in the original data.

Latitudes in the map are planetographic.
