The band seems to be hooked around the Great Red Spot that undoubtedly effects the winds of Jupiter and probably causes the hook. Observing this point could give insight on how the Great red spot affects Jupiter's winds and how similar storms affect the wind of other atmospheres that are similar to Jupiter's atmospheres.

That is a very distinctive feature! It is so much darker than the typical dark reds we see in Jupiter's bands. I wonder what it is made of and how it is shaped by or how it shapes the Great Red Spot.

I think it is very interesting how this band seems to move abound the big red spot and why there is not more of this seen around Jupiter. This could be a great point to capture in more detail.

I'm very curious what the black band is made of and the effect is has on the Great Red Spot.

The black band definitely looks like an outline of something perhaps even brighter than the great red spot!

Crabtree-12 I agree that it looks like eyeliner for the Great Red Spot! I also wonder if it is caused by or causing the red spot.

This band seems different than any other line of clouds, to me. I'm curious to see if there's any particular reason for that.

Thats a cool comparison crabtree-12! I am interested also if it really is as influencial on the big red spot. It might be the other way around. The description of this point is really cool!

It looks really cool. It looks as it is eyeliner for the red spot
