Such a linear and evenly spaced (for the most part) string of wind/gas or maybe even ice storms? I am curious to find out why they are so white, why there is such spacing between them in these images, what keeps them moving and what keeps their size fairly consistent with one another.

I wonder if this "string of pearls" are atmospheric events caused by the impact of the Shoemaker-Levy 9 comet that struck the planet in 1994. I see that white spots were there before, but they were in different places. I wonder if the impact caused them to move and to eventually line up. Hummm.
