Description
685nm IR data. Imaged Jupiter December 18th at low altitude and in poor seeing. Ganymede is about to swing behind the planet. I believe the bright oval toward the F limb in the NNTeB is the Merged NN-WS-6&7. Preceding this bright oval is a prominent very dark thin feature at similar latitude on the CM. The NEB really is dominated by the very dark thin elongated structure on it’s Southern edge also at the CM. I note a quite compact small dark oval near the CM on the Southern edge of the SEB. Several v-small dark spots are resolved in the STrZ and Oval BA is near the F limb. The 2nd data set used in the 685nm IR animation was captured at only 19 degrees altitude. Note, the 2nd 685nm IR data set used in the animation was captured at only 19 degrees altitude.
