About This Round
The evolution of the orientation of Io's orbit meant that a series of flybys brought the spacecraft closer and closer to the anti-jovian side of Io. That culminated with the PJ57 and PJ58 flybys, both at 1500 m altitude. The spacecraft orbit is now closer to Jupiter and we can now see Io from a different view. PJ60 images the subjovian side of Io with a resolution of ~11 km/pixel.
Perijove Predict Map
About Perijove Predict Maps

Every perijove pass we have the challenge of predicting where Points of Interest will be as the different zones of the planet have different wind velocities. This map shows our effort to rotate the latitudinal zones with their different wind speeds to predict what will be under the Juno groundtrack.

Winner Selection
Data volume is focused on Io images so Jupiter imaging is reduced to the bare minimum. This is likely the last time we will make this choice because subsequent Io flybys are further away. Perijove is on Jupiter's dark side.
