An image showing the Great Red Spot on Jupiter's limb. This is the first PJ31 image where the spot is clearly visible (the earlier PJ31_30 image only shows hints of it as a very narrow red 'line' at the horizon).

The image shows possible hints of a different color in Jupiter's sky at the limb above the Great Red Spot compared to areas outside the spot. The sky color above the spot appears slightly more reddish and the sky also appears 'narrower'. This is not unexpected since the clouds within the spot are known to be at a higher altitude in the atmosphere than the clouds outside the spot. This difference in the appearance of Jupiter's sky above the spot in this image is probably real feature although a processing artifact cannot be completely ruled out.

This is an approximately true color/contrast image.
