A north polar projection map showing the area around Jupiter's north pole. The map was created by stacking the red framelets from images PJ24_13, PJ24_15 and PJ24_17. The stacking results in significantly reduced noise in the resulting image. The contrast was then increased and small scale details sharpened. Only the red framelets were used since they show more details near the terminator than the green and blue framelets (the blue framelets show no details at all at the terminator). Images PJ24_19 and PJ24_21 also show this area but they were obtained with a shorter exposure time and therefore do not show useful details at the terminator. The position of the north pole is indicated with a cross.
