An approximately true color/contrast image obtained during Juno's flyby of the Earth on October 9, 2013. Here the spacecraft was about 5700 km from the Earth's surface. This image was processed mainly for experimental purposes to among other things test the color balance corrections that are necessary to get true color images (the Earth's color is well known).

The Earth's clouds are very bright relative to the ocean and some land areas. Because of this the dark areas have been brightened slightly relative to the clouds to show them better. Special processing was required at parts of the limb since due to Juno's high speed it moved significantly while obtaining the framelets from which this image is processed.
